It's natural to want the best for our kids, especially when we see how competitive the world has become. We pray for those A's that will open doors to better schools, eventually leading to stable careers and financial security. But here's something worth considering: God's plans for your child might look completely different from the path you're envisioning. That perfect report card you're hoping for, those stellar results that guarantee entry into prestigious programmes? He who loves your child even more than you do might have an entirely different journey in mind. And that's not necessarily something to fear.

Prayer for our children's academic performance isn't about convincing God to manipulate test scores. It's about asking for wisdom to guide them well, strength to support them through challenges, and grace to help them develop good study habits. As parents, we still need to provide a conducive environment for learning, ensure they're completing their homework, and teach them the value of hard work. Faith doesn't replace our responsibility as parents. When we've done our part in nurturing their education and they've put in honest effort, we can genuinely surrender the outcomes to God's care. Some things are simply beyond our control, no matter how much we worry or strategise.
